Honor Loved Ones Lost to Cancer at Annual American Cancer Society Event

Dallas, Texas, April 16, 2007 – Train in the Distance, an annual concert for Cancer Research, is providing an opportunity to honor loved ones lost to cancer at this year’s American Cancer Society fund raiser.

“We will have a slide show during this year’s performance that will honor those we have lost to cancer since our last event (July 15, 2006),” Executive Producer Scott Wood said.

For a donation of any amount, a photo of your loved one will be included at the close of the first act of this year’s concert. Wood says the idea came from the memorial segments in awards shows such as the Grammy’s and the Oscar’s, but that this memorial will honor more than just celebrities, but people who have touched our lives personally.

Names of loved ones who have survived cancer, are battling cancer, or have lost their battles with cancer can also be listed in the event program.

The concert event and silent auction will be held at Denton ’s Campus Theatre on June 1st and 2nd , 2007, with an additional concert-only performance at White’s Chapel UMC in Southlake , Texas on June 8th. The family-friendly concert will include covers of songs from artists Paul Simon, Fleetwood Mac, Billy Joel, and many more. Volunteer artists from around the Metroplex make up what is known as ‘The OneNightOnly Band’ – assembled solely for this annual fundraiser.

To honor your loved one at this year’s event, please email scott@traininthedistance.com or call the information line at 214-405-5413. The deadline for inclusion in this year’s event is May 15. Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
