Concert Event for the American Cancer Society Launches Website – Offers Opportunities to Honor Loved Ones Lost to Cancer
Dallas, Texas, March 2, 2007 – Now in its second year, ‘Train in the Distance – A Concert for Cancer Research’ has launched its official website.
The new website, www.traininthedistance.com , currently offers information about this year’s concert events – an official event of the American Cancer Society – as well as opportunities to honor loved ones who are suffering from, have overcome, or who have been lost to cancer. Founder, Executive Producer, and recent cancer survivor Scott Wood said, “The launch of this site really creates a greater opportunity for having a successful fundraiser on an annual basis.
“With a short amount of time to plan and a very lean production staff, we were able to raise more than $5,000 for the ACS last year. We hope to raise more than triple that number in 2007, and feel that the launch of our website is an important part of our marketing strategy for this benefit, both short and long term.”
The concert event and silent auction will be held at Denton ’s Campus Theatre on June 1st and 2nd , 2007, with an additional concert-only performance at White’s Chapel UMC in Southlake , Texas on June 8th. The family-friendly concert will include covers of songs from artists Paul Simon, Fleetwood Mac, Billy Joel, and many more. Volunteer artists from around the Metroplex make up what is known as ‘The OneNightOnly Band’ – assembled solely for this annual fundraiser.
Opportunities to honor loved ones stricken with cancer as well as opportunities to donate time and money to this cause are highlighted on the website. All net proceeds from this event go to the American Cancer Society. Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Train in the Distance – Train in the Distance is an annual American Cancer Society concert event. The concert event is a professional-quality; family-oriented show that not only raises funds for the ACS, but also promotes awareness of the need for continued cancer research.
